Mary Ellen Winner, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 8, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Winner in 1973.
Born in Evanston, Illinois, Mary Ellen was the daughter of the late Charles E. Whiting and Jessie W. Whiting. She grew up in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She then graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Hygiene and worked as a hygienist for many years in New Jersey where she raised her family.
Mary Ellen is survived by sons G. Jeffrey Winner (Sheila), Robert A. Winner (Kate) and daughter Jo Lynn “Jodi” Fieger (Chris). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Robert A. Winner II, Natalie Brantley (Nick), Meghan Winner, Sean Winner (Dani), Christopher Fieger Jr., Allison Fieger, Sarah Baisley (Wesley) and Daniel Fieger; six great grandchildren: Riley, Jaxon, Hoyt, Owen, Chloe and Finley; nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Ann T. Winner. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alan W. Whiting, sister-in-law Janet F. Whiting, and brother-in-law Clifford Winner Jr.
Mary Ellen will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Mary Ellen’s family thanks the caring employees of Keystone Villa, Maple Farm and Hospice and Community Care for helping her during her illness.
