Obituary

Martha Z. (Horst) Martin, 85, of Mount Joy, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in East Earl Twp. to the late Mahlon and Alta (Zimmerman) Horst and was the wife of the late Adin H. Martin who passed away in 2016.

She was a member of Clearview Mennonite Church, (Weaverland Conf.), Manheim.

Martha was a homemaker.

Martha is survived by seven children, Erma, wife of Carl Sensenig of Denver, Harlan, husband of Lois (High) Martin of New Washington, OH, Neal, husband of Susan (Martin) Martin of MacIntire, IA, Daniel, husband of Jane (Rutt) Martin of Ashland, OH, Charles, husband of Ruth Elaine (Burkholder) Martin of Loysville, Ralph, husband of Dorothy (Horst) Martin of Elizabethtown, Abner, husband of Ruth (Weaver) Martin of Mt. Joy; a son-in-law, Omar Wenger of Bellingham, MA; 33 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Ruth, wife of Ivan Zimmerman of Ephrata, Milton, husband of Lydia (Weaver) Horst of East Earl, Elizabeth, wife of Raymond Zimmerman of Denver, Vera, wife of Leroy Reiff of New Holland, Edna, wife of Harry Leinbach of MO and a sister-in-law, Fannie Horst of Bowmansville.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene Wenger; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren and five siblings, Mabel Zeiset, John Horst, Christian Horst, Mahlon Horst, Esther Martin, Luke Horst.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Farm Crest Chapel, Fairmount Homes, 100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 9:15 AM at Clearview Mennonite School, 110 N. Esbenshade Road, Manheim with further services at 9:30 AM from Clearview Mennonite Church, 90 N. Esbenshade Road, Manheim with Bishop Melvin Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
