Obituary for Leona Jane Showalter
Leona Jane Showalter, of Reinholds, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. She was 89.
She was born and raised, and raised her family, in the Reinholds area. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Esther (Matz) Kochel and was the wife of the late Ray Showalter.
Leona enjoyed many years camping in the Indian River Bay area of Delaware. She always enjoyed reading, shopping, and spending time with her family. In her younger years, she was an avid motorcycle rider. Leona loved football, especially the Miami Dolphins and Penn State.
She is survived by three daughters, Delphine, wife of Dale Drake, Denise, wife of Roger Touchberry, Dorinda, companion of Arnie Hess; two sons, Dean, husband of Heidi (Becker) Showalter, Dana, husband of Holly (Hornberger) Showalter; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson and a brother, Eugene Kochel.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 10 to 11 AM at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, followed by her funeral service at 11 AM, with Pastor Scott Brubaker officiating. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery Annex.
