Obituary for Kevin R. Heisey

Kevin R. Heisey, 69, of Greensburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Lancaster to Nancy (Breitigan) Heisey and the late M. LeRoy Heisey. Kevin was the husband of Marcia (Bromyard) Heisey.

He graduated from Ephrata High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English. Prior to retirement, he worked in production and management in the editorial services at Cadmus in Ephrata.
Kevin was outgoing and easy to talk to. He made people of every age laugh with his stories and witty observations. He was a loyal friend, and many of those friendships endured since his school days. He liked to cook and enjoyed the simple things in life, like having a cozy home and sitting in front of a fire or around the dinner table with family and friends. He spent years restoring a vintage home and gardens to a special place that the whole family enjoyed. He honed his woodworking and stonemasonry skills in the process, building a stone wall that a New Englander would be proud of. Even after retirement and a move to Greensburg, home improvement played a large role in his life. Kevin also loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking the Middle Creek trails. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sisters, Melinda “Mindy” S., wife of Robert Sheaffer, Karen K., wife of Mark Mertz; nieces and nephews, Jason, Angela, Gabe, Gordon, Jamie, Julie and Lara.

A memorial for Kevin will be scheduled at a later date.
