Kayla was truly a special person and she made me smile often. My favorite two memories were the first time she waved back at me and the day she hugged me for no reason. I will remember those things and her forever. Her smile and the joy she brought to others were a blessing.

My most sincere condolences to Jeff, Michelle and Clayton.

Kayla was a smart, crazy, funny, creative, stubborn, wonderful girl, full of life & love. I had the immense pleasure of spending time with her 40+ hours a week for the past several months. I went wherever she did, and she kept me on the go! She loved to wear my name tag & take my car keys as soon as I came in the door each morning. Kayla was almost always happy, and her laugh and smile were contagious! She loved to wear sweatshirts, listen to music, paint, string beads, and draw on clipboards. She would get so excited when I would help her write the names "Dady, Mommy, Kayla". She was a hard worker and she loved going to school. Even though she didn't say much verbally, she was constantly talking using her device, sometimes a little too much! Kayla was a social butterfly and loved to give hugs everywhere she went. Kayla, you are missed more than you know, but I know you are talking and laughing with Jesus now, and I'll see you again soon. Prayers for all those touched by this amazing girl.

Kirby and I and our family were saddened to read of Kayla’s passing. We will always remember her smile and curiosity when we talked and when she wanted to go see Helen’s gardens. We Are sure Helen welcomed her with a warm hug and lots of reminiscing about their times together. Kayla and Helen had a special relationship. May your memories be a comfort and help you all through this time. Joan, Kirby, Krisha, Breana and families

I have so many sweet memories of Kayla especially on Sunday mornings. I loved her giggle when we were doing Kids Church, and as she walked to the next activity- always smiling, looking me in the eye waiting for the next thing. As I pray for you Steele family, I weep and then imagine what it’s like for her in heaven, delighting in the full presence of the Lord. Thank you for sharing your sweet girl with us. - Kim Williamson
