Obituary for Ivan N. Opalko
Ivan N. Opalko, 61, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.
He was born in Ukraine to the late Nikolay and Vira Opalko and was the husband of Larisa (Astakhov) Opalko.
He was a member of Slavic Baptist Church.
Ivan was a supervisor for Conestoga Wood Specialties. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, working on cars, and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Ivan is survived by 4 children, Olga, Viktor, Inna, and Elina; 6 grandchildren, Alexander, Diana, Michael, Max, Zoe, and Eva; 11 siblings, Lyudmila, Nina, Alexander, Tatyana, Nikolay, Grigory, Sergiy, Leonid, Yuriy, Viktor, and Andriy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Bethany Slavic Church, 864 Dawn Avenue, Ephrata. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Mellingers Union Cemetery, Gockley Road, Schoeneck.
