Obituary for Irma M. Schlott (Dissinger)

Irma M. Schlott, 106, of Ephrata Manor, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

Born May 18, 1912 in Akron, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Cora (Mellinger) Dissinger. She was the wife of the late Victor H. Schlott who passed away in 1970.

She was an active member of Akron Church of the Brethren where she was the contact person for the prayer circle and participated in the ugly quilting up to age 98. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, cooking and reading. She was a 1929 graduate of Akron High School

She was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Irma is survived by a son, Walter, husband of Diane of Denver; a daughter, Sharon, wife of Parke Lesher of Denver; a sister, Lena Blumenshine of Denver; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Sweigart; three sons, Gene, Carl and Bill Schlott and two brothers, Floyd and Lester Dissinger.

A viewing will be held on March 23, 2019, from 10 to 11 AM at the Akron Church of the Brethren, 613 Main Street, Akron, followed by a Celebrations of Irma’s Life at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Dennis Garrison officiating. Interment will take place in the Shirk's Cemetery.
