Obituary for Irene Wenzel (Myers)
Irene M. Wenzel, 91, of Denver, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at The Gardens at Stevens.
She was born in New Holland to the late Morris and Anna Glendora (Spece) Myers and was the wife of the late Amos C. Wenzel who passed in 1997.
Irene was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ephrata, Stevens Fire Company Auxillary, and Garden Spot Motorcycle Club. She enjoyed a nice walk, helping others, and spending time with family.
In the early years, Irene worked for Hestico, Ephrata.
Irene is survived by daughter, Patsy M., wife of John Yingst of Millsboro, DE; grandson, Lewis Yingst of Ephrata; granddaughter, Lisa Sweigart of Denver; 5 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alyson, Jesse, Jayden, and Joseph; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and niece, Della, wife of Eric Markley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Leroy Myers, sisters, Marie Myers and Jeanette Doutrich.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Bishop Earl Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
