Obituary for Gordon H. Hertzog
Gordon H. Hertzog, 83, of Lebanon, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center.
He was born in Ephrata to the late Reuben and Edith (Hersh) Hertzog and was the husband of Sylvia A. (Vogel) Hertzog with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Gordon was a salesman for Rupp Tire. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War, and a member of the Cocalico Valley Post #3376 VFW. He was an avid hunter, bowler, and golfer, and a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition to his wife, Gordon is survived by four children, Tom Hertzog, David, husband of Zulma Hertzog, Todd, husband of Kelle Hertzog, Heidi Hertzog; four grandchildren, Daniel, husband of Amanda Hertzog, Kirsten Hertzog, Alli Hertzog, Maddie Hertzog, and a sister, Loretta Hertzog.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Hertzog and five brothers, Russell, Rueben, Jr., Lyle, Jonathan, and George.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th Street, Akron. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gordon's memory may be made to Cocalico Valley Post #3376 VFW, 141 S. State Street, Ephrata, PA 17522.
