Obituary for Ethel Newman
Ethel S Newman, 105, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Ephrata Manor.
She was born in Sinking Springs, PA to the late Reuben and Harriet (Spencer) Showalter and was the wife of the late Henry Newman who passed away in 2011.
A member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver, she was the eldest of five Showalter siblings.
Ethel is survived by two sons, Robert H. Newman, husband of Margot (Kappes) of Douglassville, Michael A. Newman, husband of Kathy (Pate) of Freemont, NC; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 1:00 pm, at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, with Pastor Marissa Becklin officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Inc., Reading.
