Obituary for Emma N. Martin (Martin)

Emma N. Martin, 83, of Leola, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019, at the home of Leon and Anna Zimmerman.

She was born in East Earl Township to the late Rufus M. and Katie (Nolt) Martin and was the wife of the late Warren R. Martin who passed away in 2010.

She was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).

Emma was a homemaker.

Emma is survived by 13 children, Aaron, husband of Lena (Reiff) Martin of Penn Yan, NY, Lucy, wife of Paul Weaver, Jr., of Lewisburg, Catherine, wife of Edwin Martin of Penn Yan, NY, Lawrence, husband of Doris (Sauder) Martin of Bowmansville, Anna, wife of Leon Zimmerman of Leola, Warren, husband of Norma (Leinbach) Martin of Leola, Eva, wife of Ervin Martin of East Earl, Ruth, wife of Leon Hurst of Thorp, WI, Ella, wife of J. Lloyd Zimmerman of Leola, Emma, wife of Glen Zimmerman of New Holland, Elaine, wife of Lloyd Nolt of Charles City, IA, Vera, wife of Leon Burkholder of Greenwich, OH, Elvin, husband of Anita (Musser) Martin of Mohnton; 102 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Rufus (Katie) Martin of Mifflinburg, Henry (Vera) Martin of Ionia, IA, John (Catherine) Martin of Versailles, MO, Aaron (Nancy) Martin of Fortuna, MO and two sisters-in-law, Lydia Martin of Mifflinburg, Edna Martin of New Holland.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua and three brothers, Ammon, Levi and David Martin.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at the residence of J. Lloyd Zimmerman, 117 Peace Road, Leola, PA 17540. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 9:00 AM at the residence of J. Lloyd Zimmerman with further services at 9:30 AM from the Groffdale Mennonite Church, 90 Groffdale Church Road, Leola, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
