Obituary for Earl G. Landis
Earl G. Landis, 86 years old, of Akron, PA, went to be with Jesus on August 24, 2022. He was born August 4, 1936 and is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Anna Mae “Annie” (Godshall) Landis.
Earl was a member of Ephrata Community Church (E.C.C.) from 2004 to 2022. He graduated from Eastern Mennonite College with a Bachelor Degree in English. He was involved in farming in the early years of their marriage and then worked in the maintenance department at Philhaven Hospital from 1974 to 2000. Earl loved the Word of God, spending time with family, showing hospitality in his home with his wife, gardening, putting puzzles together, and playing games.
In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by four children: Sheila, wife of Thomas Hoffman of Ephrata, PA; George, husband of Mardel Landis of Quarryville, PA; Rosanne, wife of Nathan Gehman of Fayetteville, GA; Greta, wife of Jared Seibel of Canon City, CO; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; (one great-grandchild “on the way”); and four siblings: James Landis, Darlene Saunders, Sara Anne Kane and Christine Burkholder.
Earl was preceded in death by his daughter, Karena Landis; his parents, Wilmer and Lorraine Landis; and his brother, Paul Landis.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 7pm at Ephrata Community Church (E.C.C.), 70 Clay School Road, Ephrata, PA 17522. Visitation will be at E.C.C. before the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, September 2nd from 5 to 6:30pm. Interment will be private for the family.
