Bernard J. Homefield, Jr. (Buddy) born August 11, 1949 at Patterson Army Hospital in Ft. Monmouth NJ passed away on April 25, 2021 at WellSpan York Hospital PA. Along his side was his loving wife Patti, his adored granddaughter JoLeigh, and his cherished daughter Leigh Anna.
Buddy graduated in 1967 from Middletown High School NJ. He was a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for the Holmdel, NJ branch retiring in 2004. He resided in Ocean Grove, NJ before moving to Ephrata, PA in September 2004. He a member of the Belmar Elks Lodge 1997 and a past Exalted Ruler (1999-2002), and past Secretary (2003-2004). He was also a member and Past President of Lincroft Fire Company Luncroft NJ and a member and Past First Lt. of Eagle Hook and Ladder in Ocean Grove, NJ.
Buddy was a diehard NY Yankee and NY Giants fan who enjoyed camping, photography, and his dogs, Anni, Max, and Shea.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard J. Homefield, Sr. in January 1985, and Ann M. Homefield in January 2008. Surviving are his wife of 22 years and the love of his life, Patricia A. McGrath Homefield (Patti) his daughter Leigh Homefield, Ephrata, PA; his son, Bernard J. Homefield III of FL; his two step-sons and daughter-in-law, Scott J. Bruno of Ephrata, PA; Ryan P. Bruno and Jennyfer Bruno of Lincroft, NJ. He will be missed greatly by his grandchildren, JoLeigh Blankenship of Ephrata, PA; JuliAnna and James O’Donnell, Ephrata, PA; Zieer Bruno of Ephrata, PA; Sarah Bruno, Autumn Bruno, Vivienne Bruno, Riley Bruno, Tessa Bruno and Ryan P. Bruno Jr. (due in June 2021) all of Lincroft, NJ. He is also survived by his cousins, Janet Tamburro of New Holland, PA and Jack Muha of Cranford, NJ.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021, from 1 to 3 PM at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th Street, Akron.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
