Obituary for James M. Snyder

James M. Snyder, 88, of Berwick, formerly of Reinholds, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Brookdale Personal Care, Bloomsburg.

He was born in Lancaster County to the late Lee and Veoma (Wann) Snyder and was the husband of the late Mary Katie (Weist) Snyder who died in 2011.

James was an avid Phillies fan and collected baseball memorabilia for many years. He was the owner of James and Mary Snyders' Collectibles of Reinholds.

James served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a brick layer for Harvey Snyder Masons for many years.

James is survived by a daughter, Linda Taylor of Shickshinny; 4 grandchildren, Kelly and husband Ralph Swope of Shickshinny, Tony and wife Andrea Crills of Benton, Meggin and husband Chris Diltz of Shickshinny, and Katie Taylor of Shickshinny; 9 great-grandchildren, Courtney and husband Craig Swope, Chelsea and Chloe Swope, Rachel and Ryan Crills, Loegan and Lideya Dilts, and Gabriella and Gavin Taylor; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Cecilia and Cole Swope; and a brother, William and wife Anna Mae Snyder of Reinholds.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Snyder.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015, from 10 to 11 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Dennis L. Trout officiating. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.
