Obituary for Reuben Z. Gress

Reuben Z.  Gress
Reuben Z. Gress, 90, of Lititz, formerly of Denver, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at United Zion Retirement Community.

He was born in Reinholds to the late Evan and Minnie (Zimmerman) Gress and was the husband of the late Helen M. (Keenan) Gress who died in 2005.

Reuben was a member of the Berean Bible Church in Ephrata, and the Denver Lions Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping, baseball, and golf. He also enjoyed playing board games.

Reuben was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He worked as a builder and owned the company, Gress and Weitzel Builders. After retirement he was a Denver Building Inspector.

Reuben is survived by 3 children, Dean L. Gress of Denver, Diane C., wife of Larry Dull of Lititz, and Tamara J. Gress of Story, WY; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Z. Gress, husband of Dee.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin L. Gress.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018, from 10 to 11 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Kelly Sensenig officiating. Interment will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Reuben's memory may be made to United Zion Retirement Home Benevolent Fund, 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, PA, 17543.
