Obituary for Larry L. Long

Larry L. Long, 86, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in W. Earl Twp. to the late Lawrence and Helen (Snader) Long and was the husband of Sherlyn L. (Rankin) Long with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

He attended Bible Baptist Church.

Larry was a tool and die maker for RCA and New Standard. He was a member of the American Legion, Mt. Joy. He loved traveling on his motorcycle and hunting. Larry was a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force while stationed in Wyoming from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by a son, Lamar L., husband of Kathie Long of Akron; a daughter, Linda L., wife of Kevin Booth of Ephrata; a step-son, William, Jr., husband of Trina Gebhart of Willow Street; 3 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 10 to 11 AM at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 North Ninth Street, Akron followed by funeral services at 11 AM, with Pastor George H. Frantz officiating. Interment will take place in the Brownstown Cemetery.
