Irene M. Gehman, 91, of New Holland, formerly of Denver and Schoeneck, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Garden Spot Village.

She was born in Denver to the late Phares and Lizzie (Snyder) Meckley and was the wife of the late Robert H. Gehman who died in 2005.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Denver, where she was a member of the choir and served in various positions of leadership. She was a charter member of the Denver Womans Club, where she served as president and coordinated the antique show, and she enjoyed crocheting.

Irene had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Sperry New Holland.

Irene is survived by 4 children, Terry L. Gehman, husband of Barbara (Wallbaum) of Montgomery, IL, Jennifer G., wife of H. Edward Burks of Germantown, MD, Greg T. Gehman of Denver, and Robin H. Gehman of Spencer, VA; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Sadie Zerbe, Leroy Meckley, and Marie Mowrey.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, from 11 to 11:30 am at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 420 Main Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am, with Chaplain Marian Harnish officiating. Entombment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
