Maria Shiffer, 79, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

She was born in Germany on February 3, 1937, and was the wife of Gene E. Shiffer, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage.

Marie was an Auxiliary member of Ephrata Amvets Post #136. She was a great cook, enjoyed doing crafts, and watching football.

She worked as a machine operator for Bollman Hat Factory for 15 years.

In addition to her husband, Maria is survived by a son, Anthony Garcia of New York; 3 daughters, Michelle, wife of Scott Innes of Texas, Annie Estrada of North Carolina, Veronica Stewart of Maryland; a granddaughter, Amber Hileman; many nieces and nephews and extended family in Germany.

A Celebration for Life will be held at the Ephrata AMVETS Post 138 on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
