Obituary for Lloyd A. Eaby

Lloyd A. Eaby, 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 17, 2016 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA. Formerly of Ephrata, he was the loving husband of Lois Snader Eaby for 68 wonderful years.

Born on February 10, 1926 in East Earl, PA, he was the son of the late E. Grant Eaby and Susan Mast Eaby.

In 1944, he enlisted in the Army and went to Basic Training at Fort Riley, KS for 16 weeks of horse cavalry training. He served in WWII with Merrill’s Marauders in the China Burma India (CBI) theatre in the 613th Artillery Division of the Mars Task Force. He left the military in 1946 with the rank of Sergeant. When he returned home, he was awarded his Diploma from McCaskey High School.

Lloyd was the owner of Lloyd Eaby Auto Body Shop in Ephrata until he retired. He enjoyed baseball, especially the Phillies, and many visits from family and friends, who will lovingly miss him.

He was a Charter Member of Grace Brethren Church, Ephrata, and previously was a member of Lancaster Grace Brethren Church. He served as an Elder, Sunday School teacher, and in Youth Ministries.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children: Teresa “Terry” married to Dale Peachey, Ephrata, PA; Daniel Eaby married to Nancy, Marietta, PA; Douglas Eaby married to Lynn, Sarasota, FL; and Dale Eaby married to Laurie, East Petersburg, PA.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and two siblings: W. Leon Eaby, Lititz, PA, and Carolyn, married to John Ranck, Lancaster, PA. He was predeceased by a newborn son, and a brother, Earl Eaby.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at Grace Family Church, 415 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA on Friday, April 22 at 11 AM. A viewing will precede the service from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery, East Earl, with Military Honors accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
