Obituary for Vernon Walter Bryant

Vernon Walter Bryant, 88, of Adamstown, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Mifflin Center.

He was born in Altoona to the late Oscar and Ida (Mattern) Bryant and was the husband of the late Mary Jane Bryant, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage before her passing on February 1, 2011.

Vernon was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Navy. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Adamstown. Vernon enjoyed attending auctions and doing remodeling projects.

During his working years, Vernon worked for Carpenter Technology, Reading.

Vernon is survived by 2 sons, Russell L. Bryant and his companion Holly of Cumru Twp., Mark L., husband of Linda (Boyer) Bryant of Bernville; a daughter, Donna J., wife of William Lewis of Baltimore, MD; 4 grandchildren, Kristine Gamble, Garrick Bryant, Lynda Dyche, and Robert Lewis; and 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Harry Bryant of Media.

In addition to his wife and parents, Vernon was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Amy C. (Seifrit) Bryant; brother, Harold Bryant and sister, Lois Jean Gauthier.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
