Obituary for Ella Mae Hoover

Ella Mae Hoover, 65, of Ephrata, passed away from complications of ALS on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at her residence.

She was born in Clay Township to Katie (Horning) Hoover of Ephrata and the late Aaron W. Hoover.

Ella Mae was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. She had worked at the Ephrata Community Hospital as a dietary aide for many years.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by 5 brothers, Melvin H., husband of Martha (Reiff) Hoover of Leola, John H., husband of Ruth Ann (Garman) Hoover of Marietta, Marvin H., husband of Anna Mary (Brubaker) Hoover of Womelsdorf, Moses H., husband of Arlene (Nolt) Hoover of Myerstown, Aaron H., husband of Edna (Oberholtzer) Hoover of Bethel; a sister Mabel, wife of Kenneth Sauder of Ephrata; several nieces and nephews and her best friend of many years with whom she resided, Ruth Shirk.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Martindale Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Rd., Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, at 9 am, at the Martindale Fellowship Center, with further services at 9:30 am, from the Martindale Frame Mennonite Church, 905 Martindale Rd., Ephrata, with Bishop Amos G. Martin officating. Interment will take place in the Springville Mennonite Church.
